We are located in Monmouth, IL. This page is a list of available horses for adoption right now. They are all various adoption fees and each have their own individual stories. Some have been with us for a year, others stay with us for a few weeks of quarantine and are ready to go to their new homes. All horses are sold as is, and we ask for first right of refusal if they don’t work out so we can be involved in helping them find a good fit to keep them from getting into the auction pipeline. We do work with potential owners who request a PPE at their expense and will haul the horse into the vet.

Aladdin
6 year old 16.3 hh bay grade WB cross gelding.
Aladdin was an auction intercept back at the beginning of
March. He has been very well started under saddle sine being with us at AEA and is learning new things every day! Aladdin is a such a handsome horse! He has beautiful movement and would be a great all around English prospect. He is still green and learning, but is making leaps and bounds of progress. Aladdin jumped his first set of cross rails yesterday (June 2) and is nicely working on transitions WTC and lunges. He stands tied, loves baths, and is good for the farrier.
Jasmine
7-8 year old Thoroughbred cross mare 16.3 hh
Jasmine was an auction intercept. She is broke to ride and does excellent on trails. She stands tied very nicely, but needs some work if left alone in cross ties. Jasmine stands to be tacked up and is very easy to handle. On a trail ride, she lead the group, followed and was in the middle. She did lead but was less confident as a leader and does great riding along with a buddy.

Valid Cause is a 9 yr old OTTB 16.3 hh bay mare

Easy to get along with, sound, has been in pasture with other horses with us since December, 2021. She is middle to lower in the herd order and generally gets along with other horses very well. She is easy to catch and a beautiful soul. We bought this mare from a kill buyer following the sale. She is a forward ride, but she’s a decent minded horse and full of potential! She does not come with JC papers.

Versace aka JC UnBridled Ruler
Versace came to us from a loose pen at a sale barn in May, 2021. . He was very aggressive and kept lunging at people when they came near. He was afraid and nervous. When we got him home, he colicked right off of the trailer, and then had some issue with choke within the same week. We had his teeth done and immediately saw a wonderful difference in him. His teeth were so bad he had lacerations, and he had to relearn how to chew properly after having them done. Versace still has a ways to go when it comes to trusting people completely. He is is not a horse for an inexperienced horse owner. He is friendly in pasture, but at a feed time has been known to be food aggressive. This has changed a lot. He will allow me to handed him and pet his face at this point, but I don’t believe just anyone could do that. Versace had some big struggles adjusting to life off the track and needs a patient person to continue to bring him along and love him. Versace is a cribber.
He was a successful race horse, having won over $120k on the track.

Classic Pursuit
7 year old OTTB gelding16.3 hh JC Papers
Classic is such a great horse. He is tall, dark, and handsome and has been off track 8/3/2020.
Classic has been with us since coming off the track, and is used to life as a normal horse. He lives in pasture with thoroughbred friends. He mostly gets along with everyone and is easy to catch and handle. Classic has show jumped locally up to 3’3 last year bringing home ribbons every show. He would do best with an intermediate plus rider. Maybe an advanced beginner with a trainer. Classic is brave to fences. He seems to enjoy his job and competition. Classic is a chronic wind sucker, however his teeth don’t show signs of wear from cribbing. (he just had them done in October). He has not been in regular work for the past couple of months.

Buzz
3 year old grade gelding
Buzz is a green bean auction intercept! He is young and curious, and he doesn’t know much, but he is full of spark and personality! He is around 15 hh, and was an auction intercept. Buzz likes to play hard to catch in pasture. He would make a wonderful barrel prospect, and really could go any direction.
Samira
Samira is an upper teens Paso Fino Mare. Sweet Samira is supposed to be broke but it’s been a good four years since she’s been ridden. In our opinion, she would need some ground work before hopping on her. She can be nervous and needs an experienced and patient person to work with her to bring her back around. Samira is probably about 14.1-14.2 hh Samira has done basic liberty work with a past owner and is very smart and sensitive.
